Imran Khan says ‘will strengthen institutions after coming into power’

LAHORE: Former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that he will strengthen the national institutions after coming into power, ARY News reported on Monday.

While addressing PTI workers and supporters at Zaman Park Lahore, Imran Khan said that a governance system becomes successful in the presence of strong institutions.

“People have misunderstood that I will take revenge after coming into power. I will strengthen the national institutions and will never take revenge on anyone.”

“We are not going to take revenge from others but to establish justice and law. Our political party is not struggling for any personal agenda.”

Khan said that the supremacy of law will end if the status of the Constitution is compromised. He added that they will take to the streets to protect the country and its Constitution.

“The nation has no option other than taking to the streets. If we do not come out then we will become slaves of powerful individuals. There is a lot of difference between a politician who takes bribes and the one who fights for the betterment of the nation.”

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief said that the current rulers have no vision and their assets are present in foreign countries.

Criticising the top leaders of the ruling political parties, Imran Khan said that more than 400 drone strikes had been carried out during the governments of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari but they failed to stop them.

He added that India changed the status of Kashmir and more than 100,000 Kashmiris were martyred but the current rulers are still willing to appease India and the United States (US).
